Using found photographs collected over several months from a local flea market and vintage retailer in Helsinki together with mixed media including glass glitter, the blackest acrylic paint, dried flowers and hand embroidered glass beads, We Were Made for More illustrates how historical photographs are popularly interpreted on the Internet and through social media. The work also suggests how photographs can be interpreted and critically analysed as culturally significant, meaningful discrete historical objects that bridge the past and present rather than simply means through which we can picture history.

The series is currently work-in-progress and accepts new donations and suggestions.
