Seven Letters is a fictionalized telling of events that occurred during the Winter and Continuation War between The Soviet Union and Finland from 1939 to 1944. The work includes seven letters inspired by historical documents found in archives and family holdings. Combined with reproductions of wartime photographs collected from my own relatives and from the Finnish Wartime Photograph Archive (SA-Kuva), the series explores different perspectives of war from the relative comfort of the home front to the frontline and those serving in the auxiliary forces between.
